Medicine Guides, a new online resource providing patients and the general public with information about UK. Medicine Guides have been developed through a multi-disciplinary stakeholder group comprising the Department of Health, the NHS, the pharmaceutical industry and patient and professional groups, and are delivered in partnership with NHS Direct Online -licensed medicines.
NHS Evidence – eyes and vision is one of 34 specialist collections commissioned by NHS Evidence www.evidence.nhs.uk. The eyes and vision specialist collection holds over 1000 records in a free updated online collection of the key documents that inform NHS clinical practice in eye health care today. Any specialist or generalist health professional involved in eye care should find something in it for them. Patients and carers also have free access and the library contains patient information from a variety of sources including NHS Choices and various professional bodies such as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and College of Optometrists.
The Eye Health Alliance brings together the professional and representative optical bodies and eye care charities to campaign for better eye health for all.
The WCO is a membership organisation for optometry associations and institutions world-wide and has 86 members in 48 countries.

You just need to have sight loss that makes it difficult to get around independently or live life to the full. A guide dog only costs 50p and there are no age restrictions to having a guide dog. We have guide dog owners in their 70's and 80's and have recently removed the minimum age for applying.
