Ocular Hypertension
Ocular hypertension is a condition in which the intraocular pressure is above the statistical 'normal' limit of 21 mm Hg, but where there is no sign of glaucomatous damage.
The condition may be monitored for the first signs of developing glaucoma or it may be treated to reduce the level of the intraocular pressure with the same types of eye drops as are used for the treatment of glaucoma in order to prevent to onset of glaucoma depending on the level of the intraocular pressure and the likelihood of glaucoma developing.
