Unoprostone is a docosanoid, chemically derived from a prostanoid. However, it affects different receptors and its IOP-reducing capacity is less than latanoprost. It is applied twice daily in a 0.12% concentration. Adverse reactions seem to be less frequent than with latanoprost.
