Using the IGA website
We hope that you do not have any difficulty using our website. We have given detailed consideration to the design, type sizes and colour contrasts used on the site, to make it easier to read. However, if you are having difficulty, here are a few tips to help improve the readability of this website.
To permanently apply the font and colour changes outlined below, you must first:
• on the Tools menu (top right of your screen), click Internet Options
• on the General tab, select Accessibility
• click the three boxes to show ticks
Most of the documents on this site are in font, which should make the text easy to read. However, if you have a preference for a different font you can:
• on the Tools menu, click Internet Options
• on the General tab, click Fonts
• in the Web Page Font list, select the font you would like to use
• click OK
• on the View menu, click Text Size
• select the font size you would like
You can override the text and background settings by choosing your own preferred colour scheme – for example, black text on a yellow background usually gives the most contrast:
• on the Tools menu, click Internet Options • on the General tab, click Colours
• click on the tick box labelled Use Windows Colours (to remove the tick)
• click Text, and select the colour you want. Click OK
• click Background, and select the colour you want to use. Click OK
• on the Tools menu, click Internet Options
• on the Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia
• click on Show pictures to remove the tick
• click on Apply, and then click on OK
• on the View Menu, click Full Screen
Many other options are also available, such as removing animations and expanding the text. To look at the other options:
• on the Tools menu, click Internet Options
• select the Advanced tab
• choose the options you would like
To change the settings on your browser go to the Tools menu, and click on Options. From here you can make the following changes:
• on Tools Menu click on options
• under the Content tab, click on Advance
• Change the font face, font size
(To use these fonts when you visit all websites in future, uncheck the boxes at the bottom ‘Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above’)
• on the View menu, choose the Zoom option
• select Zoom in: the font size will increase, repeat the action until the font is of suitable size for you
• on the Tools Menu click on options • under the Content tab, click on Colours
• select the colour of your text and background • click OK
(To use these fonts when you visit all websites in future, uncheck the box at the bottom: ‘Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above’)
• on the Tools Menu, click on options
• under the Content tab, uncheck the box marked ‘Automatically load images’
• click OK
Please note that different browsers may work differently. If you have any problems changing these settings, please click the Help menu on the browser toolbar.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer v.7
