How you help

The IGA is committed to providing its services free of charge, to all who need them. We are reliant on the generosity of our members who provide regular donations and legacies.

We are lucky to have a number of active and energetic fundraisers who run, cycle, climb and skydive for our organisation. More information about the feats that they undertake can be found at Just Giving.

During this year we are piloting a volunteer scheme. We have started in Scotland and Kent and are encouraged by the zeal, enthusiasm and results that our volunteers have achieved. Through them we are able to place our literature and helpline cards into community optometrists, libraries, GP surgeries and village halls.

We also work with chains such as Vision Express, who are helping to fundraise for us during National Glaucoma Awareness Week, and to raise awareness of the importance of having regular eye health checks, to see if you are safe to drive.

As with all small charities, the financial times are tough. We continue to need the help and support of members, fundraisers and companies, if we are to continue to provide quality informationa, help and advice to all who need it.
